Hyundai to Launch Alcazar Facelift on September 9, 2024
Alcazar Facelift: Hyundai is set to launch the much-anticipated Alcazar facelift in India on September 9, 2024. This 7-seater version of the popular Creta SUV is expected to undergo significant changes, both inside and out, in an effort to boost its sales, which have lagged behind competitors. In July 2024, the Alcazar managed only 585 unit sales, a stark contrast to the Mahindra XUV700’s 7,769 units sold during the same period.
Design Changes of Alcazar Facelift
The upcoming Alcazar facelift will feature multiple aesthetic enhancements compared to the outgoing model. Key design changes include:
- Front: Split headlights, a redesigned grille, and new bumpers for a fresh look.
- Side: Updated cladding and new alloy wheels to enhance the SUV’s profile.
- Rear: A revised tail light design and a fresh tailgate layout.
Interior of New Alcazar
One of the most notable upgrades in the Alcazar facelift will be the introduction of a dual-screen setup, featuring two 10.25-inch panels for infotainment and driving details, similar to the new Creta. Additionally, buyers will have the option of a 7-seat layout with a middle-row bench or a 6-seat layout with captain seats for added comfort.
Powertrain of New Alcazar
The Alcazar facelift will retain the same engine options as the current model, ensuring familiarity for existing customers. The powertrain details include:
- Petrol Engine: A 1.5-litre turbocharged unit producing 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
- Diesel Engine: A 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine that delivers 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Price and Competition of New Alcazar
The facelift is expected to see an increase in price. Currently, the Alcazar is priced between ₹16.77 lakh and ₹21.27 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to compete with other 7-seater SUVs, including the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Kia Carens, and the Mahindra Scorpio-N.
As the launch date approaches, more information about features and specifications will likely emerge, making the Alcazar facelift a highly anticipated model in Hyundai’s lineup.
