Tata Punch: Leading the Pack
The Tata Punch retained its top position with 15,740 units sold in October 2024, reflecting a 3% year-on-year (YoY) increase from 15,317 units in the same month last year. Additionally, the Punch saw a 15% month-on-month (MoM) growth compared to September 2024’s 13,711 units. The increased demand for the sunroof variant led the company to remove certain petrol and CNG variants from its website. Punch continues to be a popular choice for both petrol and electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts.
Tata Nexon: Solid Performance Despite YoY Decline
The Tata Nexon secured the second spot with 14,759 units sold in October 2024, but it faced a 13% YoY decline from 16,887 units sold in October 2023. However, Nexon showed strong growth with a 29% MoM increase compared to September 2024’s 11,470 units. The Nexon continues to be one of Tata’s flagship models, bolstered by the popularity of its updated design and performance features.
Tata Curvv: A Rising Star
The newly launched Tata Curvv, a coupe-SUV, generated strong demand in its first two months post-launch. In October 2024, Tata sold 5,351 units of the Curvv, a notable increase from 4,763 units in September 2024. The Tata Tiago saw a 13% YoY decline, with 4,982 units sold in October 2024 compared to 5,356 units last year. However, the model’s MoM sales grew by 11%, up from 4,225 units in September 2024. On the other hand, the Altroz faced a significant decline, with 2,642 units sold, reflecting a 56% YoY drop and a 4% MoM decline.
Tata Safari and Harrier: Exceptional Growth
The Tata Safari and Harrier models performed exceptionally well in October 2024. The Safari, a mid-size SUV, witnessed a 56% YoY and a 27% MoM increase in sales, with 2,086 units sold, compared to 1,340 units in October 2023 and 1,644 units in September 2024. Similarly, the Tata Harrier’s sales grew by 3% YoY, with 1,947 units sold, a 22% increase from 1,600 units sold in September 2024.
Tata Tigor: Sales Decline
On the other hand, the Tata Tigor sedan saw a significant drop in sales, with a 41% YoY decline. The model sold only 926 units in October 2024, down from 1,563 units in October 2023. Despite this, there was a slight 4% MoM improvement compared to 890 units sold in September 2024.
