On July 6, 2023, the first episode of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 was released. The Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 release schedule is summarized in the table above. However, the date and time are subject to change if the studio announces them soon.
The first season of the anime consists of 24 episodes covering four arc tales, which comprise 64 chapters of Gege Akutami’s well-known Jujutsu Kaisen manga. The first season had four arcs: the Fearsome Womb Arc, the Vs. Mahito Arc, the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc, and the Death Painting Arc.
With the commencement of season 2, it is intended to cover both Gojo’s Past and the historic Shibuya Incident arcs. These arcs cover 15 and 58 chapters, for a total of 73 chapters.
According to sources, Gojo’s Past will be adapted into five episodes, covering all of the chapters of Hidden Inventory and Premature Death, with the sixth episode starting the Shibuya Incident arc and adapting the remaining episodes. However, as seen above, the sixth episode is set to run on August 31, 2023, after episode 5, which will air on August 3, 2023.
This is due to the fact that Season 2 will take a vacation after the first season concludes. Thus, the fandom will receive Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie and Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 recaps for the first two weeks, on August 10 and 17. There will be a one-week pause following the airing of the Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 review, and the second cour of the season will return on August 31 with the Shibuya Incident arc.
The episodes will be released every Thursday at 11:56 p.m. JST (conversion for other time zones is indicated in the table above) and will be available on a variety of streaming providers.
In Japan, the episodes will be available on ABEMA, DMM TV, d Anime Store, Disney Plus, and Prime Video, among others. International audiences can watch it in some places on Crunchyroll, Ani-One Asia ULTRA, and Netflix.
Season 2 will feature the Gojo’s history and Shibuya Incident arcs, thus fans will first see Gojo’s history when he was in his second year of Jujutsu High. Tengen Sama will also tell that he and Geto were assigned an assignment. Furthermore, viewers will be able to watch Gojo and Geto’s relationship.
This season will also see the introduction of some new characters to the audience. Because the season will have two courses, the second will contain the Shibuya Incident arc, which will reveal the outcomes of all of the Geto’s planning from season 1. It will also disclose how Geto survived his death in the film. Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen will contain 23 episodes, with 5 dedicated to Gojo’s Past storyline and the rest adapting the Shibuya Incident arc.
