Nayanthara, the main woman of Jawan, wished director Atlee a happy 37th birthday following allegations of a feud over her character being ‘chopped’.

After allegations of a rift between Nayanthara and Atlee surfaced, the Jawan star wished the filmmaker a happy 37th birthday. The purported fallout stemmed from her being’significantly marginalized’ in favor of Deepika Padukone’s role in the film.

Nayanthara sends her best wishes to Atlee

On Thursday, Nayanthara posted a collage of behind-the-scenes photos from the sets of Jawan, where Atlee is seen guiding her. In one of the stills, the two can be seen laughing candidly.

“Happy birthday @atlee47,” Nayanthara wrote in the caption. “I am so proud of you (hug emojis).”

There have been reports of consequences.

According to reports, Nayanthara was ‘upset’ with Atlee after the outcome of their previous cooperation, Jawan. While the film has grossed over 500 crore in India and 900 crore globally, the actor is said to be irritated by his lack of screen time.

According to the article, “she has been very upset with Atlee because her role in the film was cut.” Deepika’s character was also boosted, but Nayantara’s role was drastically diminished. It wasn’t even a cameo. Jawan was almost fashioned like an SRK-Deepika flick. Nayanthara is the leading actress in the south, and she was dissatisfied with Jawan’s treatment. While Nayanthara was billed as Jawan’s leading heroine, Deepika made only a’special appearance’ in the film. Deepika claimed she didn’t even get paid for her performance.

Earlier on Thursday, Shah Rukh wished Atlee on X (previously Twitter) by releasing a dance routine from Jawan in which he performs alongside Deepika.

Atlee and Nayanthara

Nayanthara has appeared in three of Atlee’s films. Raja Rani, his directorial debut from 2013, starred her as the starring heroine. They then collaborated on Atlee’s previous film, the sports drama Bigil (2019), before returning for Jawan.
