Shangri-La Frontier has created quite a stir as anime lovers eagerly await the show’s premiere. The highly anticipated adaption boasts an amazing cast and production crew.
The Story of Shangri-La Frontier
Shangri-La Frontier is based on a virtual reality game, but it features an intriguing plot.
The plot centres around a unique player who generally plays rubbish unfinished games as a hobby and later tries Shangri-La Frontier only to fall foul of some perhaps unscrupulous figures.
Date of Publication
The long-awaited anime adaptation will premiere on Crunchyroll on October 1, 2023.
Cast
Yuma Uchida and Azumi Waki lead the ensemble cast of excellent voices that bring the anime to life.
Yuma plays Sunraku/Rakuro Hizutome, while Azumi plays Psyger-0/Rei Saiga.
They also appeared in a 2021 promotional video for the manga adaptation.
Yoko Hikasa also plays Arthur Pencilgon/Towa Amane, alongside Makoto Koichi as Oicazzo/Kei Uomi, Rina Hidaka as Emul, and Akio Otusuka as Vysache.
Along with the series’ strong ensemble, three new characters are introduced: Yumiri Hanamori as Psyger-100, Sayaka Senbongi as Animalia, and Seiichiro Yamashita as Orcelott.
Production Group
This series is directed by Toshiyuki Kubooka, well known for his work on the Berserk: The Golden Age films, with Hiroki Ikeshita serving as an assistant director.
Along with him, series composer and scriptwriter Kazuyuki Fudeyasu leads the crew.
Ayumi Kurashima is in charge of animation and character design, while Satoshi Sakai is in charge of action/effects direction.
Because music is an important aspect of any media production, MONACA has contributed a musical background to this animation.
FZMZ will perform ‘Broken Games,’ the opening theme song, and CHiCO will perform ‘Ace,’ the closing theme song.
