Hezbollah Fires 165 Rockets on Northern Israel: In a significant escalation, Hezbollah launched 165 rockets into northern Israel on Monday, targeting areas including Haifa and Galilee. According to The Times of Israel, the attack led to multiple injuries and extensive damage to vehicles and infrastructure. Israel’s Defense Forces (IDF) reported that approximately 80 rockets were intercepted by Israel’s advanced air defense systems, while others struck populated areas, including Karmiel, where the impact caused injuries and destruction.

IDF responded swiftly, retaliating with targeted strikes on Hezbollah’s rocket launch sites. The IDF confirmed the destruction of at least one Hezbollah launcher through a precise drone strike. Additionally, the militant group reportedly launched a drone from Lebanon, which was intercepted by Israeli air defenses over Malkia.

This recent Hezbollah assault marks one of the most extensive attacks on Haifa, with reports indicating that 90 rockets were aimed at the city alone. The escalation follows Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s public acknowledgment of his role in a previous operation against Hezbollah in September, which resulted in significant casualties and damage in Lebanon. In response, Lebanon filed a complaint against Israel with the United Nations, intensifying the diplomatic strain between the two nations.

The IDF shared videos of the attack’s aftermath on X (formerly Twitter), with a message stating, “We will continue to defend our civilians against Hezbollah’s aggression.” The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah shows no signs of abating as both sides exchange fire, raising concerns of further regional instability.
