They fight is what they do.

At a rally speech on Tuesday, former US President Donald Trump touted Russia’s military prowess while reiterating his call for halting US involvement in the conflict in Ukraine.

During his speech in Savannah, Georgia, President Trump brought up the Soviet Union’s contribution to the defeat of the Nazis during World War II and the Russian resistance to Napoleon Bonaparte in the 1800s.

“They fight, that’s what they do. And it’s not enjoyable,” he remarked.

In addition, Trump criticized President Joe Biden’s position and lamented US spending on helping Ukraine, asking, “What happens if they win? Biden says ‘we will not leave until we win.’”

“Unless I’m president,” Trump declared, the US would be “stuck” in the Ukraine war, but he also promised to see it through. I’ll negotiate it and move on. We had to leave.”

President Vladimir Putin just issued an order that will give Russia the second-largest army in the world, with 1.5 million active soldiers, as it continues to exert pressure on a weary Ukraine.

However, experts have long recognized that Russia’s military institutions were exposed by the full-scale invasion in 2022 and have expressed doubts about the country’s ability to continue operating in Ukraine at the same pace past 2025.

Trump did not elaborate on his negotiation strategy during his speech, but his running mate, JD Vance, recently presented a plan that would require making major concessions to Putin.

The proposal, according to Vance, would prevent Ukraine from joining NATO, freeze hostilities, and establish a “demilitarized zone” along the current front line. Vance has previously stated that he doesn’t “really care” what happens to Ukraine.

In an interview with the New Yorker, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the proposal, stating: “That approach would broadcast to the world the following implicit rule: I came, I conquered, now this is mine.”
