A train climbs onto the platform at Mathura Junction Railway Station, injuring a woman; a high-level investigation has been ordered.
On Tuesday night, a local electric multiple unit (EMU) train climbed onto a platform at the Mathura junction railway station, and restoration work is currently underway. According to PTI, the railways have ordered a high-level investigation into the matter.
A woman suffered minor injuries in the incident, according to an official from the Agra division.
What exactly occurred?
The train from Shakurbasti arrived on platform 2A at 10.50 p.m. on Tuesday. Following the deboarding of all passengers and crew, the train rolled down the track and climbed onto the platform before coming to a stop, according to the official.
“A woman received an electric shock, and no one else was injured in the incident,” said Prashashti Srivastava, divisional commercial manager and public relations officer for the North Central Railways’ Agra division.
Usha Devi, 39, of Jhansi, was taken to a hospital and treated with first aid. She was later transferred to Jhansi.
According to Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Central Railways, a high-level investigation into the unusual incident will be conducted.
Trains are moving normally on all platforms except 2A, according to officials. Earlier, they said, train traffic was disrupted after an overhead equipment (OHE) snapped.
