On Thursday, emergency services were contacted in response to allegations that a man in Birmingham had suffered significant injuries after being bitten by two dogs.

According to the West Midlands Ambulance Service, “Upon arrival we found a man who had sustained multiple life-threatening injuries and was in a critical condition.”

Sadly, it became apparent after arriving at the hospital that nothing more could be done to rescue him, and he was pronounced dead.

According to Staffordshire Police, a 30-year-old man was detained on suspicion of owning dangerously out-of-control dogs on Thursday.
Although Sunak claimed an American bulldog XL, noted for its stocky and powerful look, was suspected, police are still identifying the breeds of the dogs involved.

Following a string of incidents, the subject of deadly dogs has now reached the highest levels of UK politics.
An American bully XL and Staffordshire bull terrier crossbreed puppy attacked an 11-year-old girl on Saturday, leaving her with significant injuries.

Suella Braverman, the interior minister, requested “urgent advice” after the event on the possibility of outlawing the American bully XL breed.

After the incident, she tweeted, “This is appalling.”

“The American XL Bully poses an obvious and deadly threat to our society, especially to children. This cannot continue. I’ve asked for immediate guidance on outlawing them.

It’s evident that this is not just a few poorly behaved pets, Sunak said on Friday. It’s an unsustainable habit of behavior.

“While owners already have a duty to supervise their dogs, I want to reassure the public that we are working immediately to find solutions to halt these assaults and safeguard the general public.
I’ve ordered ministers to gather specialists and police today to identify the breed of dog responsible for these assaults with the goal of prohibiting it.

Currently prohibited breeds in the UK include the pit bull terrier, Japanese tosa, dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro.

Despite being bigger and linked to pit bulls, the American bully XL is not itself restricted by any laws. It makes attempts to pass legislation more difficult as the country’s Kennel Club does not recognize it as a breed.

The breed must be defined, according to Sunak. The Dangerous Dogs Act would then be used to outlaw the breed, and new regulations will be in place by the end of the year, he said.

These canines pose a threat. I want to reassure the public that we will do all possible to ensure their safety.
