From November 7–9 in London, the Indian Ministry of Tourism will take part in World Travel Market to present India’s diverse range of travel options to key players in the international travel market, including tour operators, travel agencies, and the media.
According to the government, India will participate in the three-day World Travel Mart that begins on Monday in London in order to promote itself as a top tourist destination.

The World Travel Market (WTM) 2022, one of the biggest worldwide travel expos, will be held from November 7th to November 9th in London, according to a statement from the Indian Ministry of Tourism.
This year’s involvement of India is particularly noteworthy, according to organisers, given the country’s recent reopening to international tourists after a hiatus of nearly two years.

Travel and tourism made for 5.19 percent of India’s GDP in 2019 out of the country’s overall GDP. The Indian tourist industry supported 79.86 million jobs in 2019. (direct and indirect employment).
The tourism industry has been able to progressively recover from the COVID-19 pandemic shock and return to pre-pandemic levels thanks to the constant efforts of the federal and state governments, it was said.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as the industry partner, DMCs, tour operators, hoteliers, travel brokers, online travel agencies, and facilitators of medical value travel are among the 16 stakeholders that are participating as co-exhibitors in the India Pavilion, according to the ministry.
According to authorities, the event’s goal is to introduce the international business community to a variety of tourism goods and services, such as medical value travel, opulent trains, and the whole spectrum of travel goods.
According to the statement, the Indian delegation this year is headed by Union Tourist Secretary Arvind Singh and comprises members from the country’s travel and tourism industry in addition to Rakesh Verma, additional secretary, and other top ministry officials.
The Indian government has made many initiatives to turn India into a major international tourism hub because it recognises the potential of the tourism sector in the nation, according to the ministry.
The Indian delegation will present India’s diverse tourism products to international tourism industry stakeholders like tour operators, travel agents, and the media during its visit to WTM 2022.
According to the statement, this visit will give the Indian government team a chance to highlight the investment opportunities and potential that India offers to foreign investors as it is expected to experience rapid expansion in the tourist sector in the future.
India is preparing for its G20 presidency, which will begin on December 1.
Over 200 meetings are anticipated to be held in 55 different cities during its Presidency. According to the statement, the G-20 Presidency would provide India’s tourism industry with an unrivalled opportunity to showcase the country’s travel options and share its tourist success stories on a global scale.
The Ministry of Tourism stated that it wanted to expand the industry to new heights and quicken the transition to the 2030 sustainable development goals, especially in the wake of the Covid pandemic.
