In the residential township of Greater Noida West, a service elevator malfunctioned and crashed on Friday morning, killing four laborers and gravely injuring at least five more, according to authorities.

The incident happened at the Amrapali Group’s Dream Valley project site in Greater Noida at approximately 8 am, according to Gautam Buddh Nagar district magistrate (DM) Manish Verma.
According to Verma, the wounded were taken in for treatment at the district hospital in Noida.
He said that top police and district administration officials were at the scene quickly after the event was reported to assess the situation.
According to Verma, the authorities are on the scene and an inquiry has already begun. She also promised that the offenders will face harsh punishment.
He said that the incident’s origin is still a mystery and promised to provide more information soon.
Officials said that the lift’s suspension wire broke as it was being used by construction workers on the 14th level, causing the lift to crash to the ground.
The service elevator, which was being used by nine construction workers, collapsed from the 14th level. The lift’s suspension wire is thought to have broken, according to Central Noida Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP-2) RK Pandey.
The National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) is actively building and developing the project.
