Regarding targeted killings in Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah said, “It won’t end till…
Farooq Abdullah, a former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, stated on Monday that killings in the Valley will continue “until justice is achieved.” The head of the National Conference asked reporters why things haven’t changed despite Jammu and Kashmir’s repeal of Article 370, which the BJP had before said was to blame for the targeted killings.
The J&K leader visited the Reasi district to meet with party leader Babu Ram’s family and offer his condolences following Babu Ram’s recent passing.
Abdullah responded, “It will never end till justice is served,” when asked about the latest deaths in the Valley, particularly the one of a Kashmir Pandit last Saturday in Shopian.”
“People are still dying even though Article 370 was repealed four years ago (in August 2019). Why was Pandit Puran Krishan Bhat slain, an innocent man, if Article 370 was to blame for killings? There must be a purpose behind it. Because terrorism is supported from outside, Article 370 was not to blame for fatalities, he continued.
Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir, and other political figures denounced the murder.
“Terrorists’ attack on Puran Krishan Bhat in Shopian was a despicable display of cowardice. My sincere sympathies to the family of the deceased. I reassure the populace that those responsible and those who enable and abet terrorists will face harsh punishment “In a tweet, Sinha.
