Cleveland Cavaliers Make History with 15-0 Start, Joining Elite NBA Company
Cleveland Cavaliers Make History: The Cleveland Cavaliers have etched their name in NBA history by becoming just the fourth team ever to win their first 15 games of the regular season, securing a 128-114 victory over the Charlotte Hornets at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Darius Garland led the charge for the Cavaliers with 25 points, 12 assists, and five rebounds. Ty Jerome, filling in for the injured Donovan Mitchell, added 24 points. Evan Mobley also contributed with a double-double, finishing with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Jarrett Allen put up 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. For the Hornets, LaMelo Ball had an impressive 31-point performance.
This historic feat places the Cavaliers alongside the Washington Capitols (1949), Houston Rockets (1994), and Golden State Warriors (2016), the only other teams to have won their first 15 games in NBA history. The Warriors went on to win 24 straight games to start the season, the longest streak in league history.
Allen shared the team’s excitement, expressing how the passionate Cleveland fans have rallied behind them. “Everyone is showing tons of energy, all over the city. It’s incredible how Cleveland has adopted us,” he said.
The Cavaliers, now sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference, are set to face a major test as they travel to face the second-placed Boston Celtics, the defending NBA champions, on Tuesday.
