Florida: A high school has been transformed into a fight club, with 13 pupils detained for brawls.
In Florida, a high school evolved into a fight club, with 13 students jailed for “out of control” brawls on campus.
On Tuesday, “out of control” brawls erupted at Zephyrhills High School, where the halls were transformed into fight club grounds as students assaulted and grappled one other, resulting in the arrest of 13 pupils.
Many now-viral social media videos capture the scene from various perspectives, with students encouraging brawlers with phrases like “let’s get to class,” among other things.
The conflicts, which comprised 14 pupils, were broken up by safety officials and instructors.
A video purportedly shows school principle Christina Stanley being slammed to the ground while assisting a school employee in separating two children.
The camera footage is disturbing, with one moment showing a couple of female pupils punching a fellow student on the ground.
A video of the incident was released on X (previously X) with the title “Another Day, Another Brawl.”
According to Fox13, the Pasco County School District released a statement claiming that “the sheer number of students involved and the intensity of the situation made intervention difficult, as students continued to engage in the altercation despite efforts to de-escalate.”
“Let me be perfectly clear: behavior of this nature will not be tolerated in Pasco County Schools,” said Pasco Schools Superintendent Kurt Browning. Every student has the right to a secure and conducive learning environment, and we will take all necessary steps to ensure that this continues.”
Out of concern, the school was momentarily placed under a “controlled campus.”
The high school seems to have a history of violent “incidents.”
“Staff got hurt, children got hurt, and it was completely out of control and they couldn’t control it,” said Danielle Marie, who relocated her son to another school due to the frequency of similar occurrences at Zephyrhills. And it is really frightening.”
“I just decided he wasn’t going to go to that school anymore because it had gotten too out of hand,” she said.
Earlier this year, a 14-year-old pupil at the school was detained after threatening to bring a machete to school and murder two kids.
He was transferred to a juvenile institution after claiming the comment was a joke.
