Queen Camilla to Miss UK Remembrance: Queen Camilla, recovering from a chest infection, will miss this year’s Remembrance Day events, Buckingham Palace announced. Doctors advised the 77-year-old Queen Consort, wife of King Charles, to rest and recover fully, leading her to step back from her planned appearances, including the annual Festival of Remembrance at London’s Royal Albert Hall and the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph war memorial.

These Remembrance Day events, held each year on the closest Sunday to November 11, honor fallen soldiers and mark the end of World War I. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson stated that Camilla would instead commemorate the occasion privately at home, following medical advice to prevent any risk to others.

Princess Kate, the 42-year-old Princess of Wales, will be among those attending the Remembrance Day events, continuing her gradual return to public life following her own health challenges. Earlier this year, Kate shared that she had completed chemotherapy as part of her preventive cancer treatment but noted her recovery journey would be ongoing. Her last public appearance in October saw her meeting families of three young girls who lost their lives in a tragic incident in northwest England.

King Charles, who was diagnosed with cancer in February, has recently resumed his royal duties, including visits to Australia and Samoa.
